"Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says that paying higher taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans.
Biden says he and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama want to “take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people.”
Under the Democrats’ economic plan, people earning more than $250,000 a year would pay more in taxes while those earning less — the vast majority of American taxpayers — would receive a tax cut.
Biden told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday that, in his words, “it’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

IM IN NO WAY OPPOSED TO THE RISE OF TAXES. IT HAS TO HAPPEN OR WE WILL BE AMISH. IF WE WANT BETTER ROADS, BRIDGES, SHOOLS, HEALTH CARE, MASS TRANSIT, ETC. HOW DO WE EXPECT TO ACIEVE THOSE IF WE ALL DONT PAY ? EVEN THE POOR SHOULD HAVE THEIR TAXES RAISED. ALONG WITH THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THOSE 250K + STATUS. WHY SHOULD ONE THAT MAKES THAT MONEY BE SINGLED OUT ? WHY DOES EVERYONE FEEL THEY CAN SAY " YOU MAKE TOO MUCH MONEY " WE ALL HAVE THE SAME BASIC OPPORTUNITES IN THIS COUNTRY. SOMEONE THAT CHOOSE TO HAVE A CAREER MAKING LETS SAY 60K A YEAR SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYMORE ADVANTAGE THEN SOMONE THAT CHOSE A CAREER MAKE 250K A YEAR. ULTIMATELY THAT 60K A YEAR PERSON HAS, HAD, AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SELECT A CAREER WHERE 250K CAN BE MADE.
